The Broadway Historic District is a vital and exciting neighborhood, where there's always something going on to spur your interest. The Great UnveilingThis unique tradition, where volunteers help homeowners remove synthetic siding, has received national recognition. Bring your pry bar and gloves, and meet your neighbors as we tear off siding to reveal a home's original exterior! The "Renovation in Progress" signs popping up throughout the neighborhood bear witness to the number of residents actively involved in renovation and restoration. Check out the history of this wonderful event here. This annual tour of neighborhood homes grows more popular every year. While there are only five homes on the tour each year, the entire district is on display to the hundreds of guests who walk through Broadway. Visitors enjoy trolley and horse-drawn carriage rides through the neighborhood. Actors in period costumes portray early residents of the homes. Refreshments and activities are held at "Broadway Square". Porch Party The annual Porch Party is held once a year, where residents enjoy a warm welcome at several Broadway homes. Participants receive an invitation to the first house before the event and then while at the party, they learn the location of their second destination. Guests enjoy refreshments and neighborly company. Some pick up renovation tips, others discuss current events and many swap stories about their families and their latest house project.
