CRAFTSMANSHIP

Homes in Broadway were built at a time when builders took great pride in craftsmanship and the quality of their work. In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the Quad Cities teemed with craftsmen with origins from all over Europe and Eastern North America who brought their artistic sensibilities and traditions with them. Homes were built to last from the finest materials available; today charming hand-made finishes carved in wood, sculpted in stone, molded in plaster and clay, and wrought in iron continue to fill residents with pride and a sense of place. The galleries below demonstrate the beautiful craftsmanship, lacking in most modern construction, that is available in historic Broadway homes.
